Aluzinc: Alloy-Coated Stainless Steel

The many qualities of stainless steel have ensured that it is one of the most popular construction materials on the planet. When steel is coated with an alloy composed of aluminium and zinc, all of its remarkable qualities are enhanced: this unique material is known as 'Aluzinc'.

Aluzinc is, in effect, a cold-rolled steel that has been coated with an alloy containing aluminium, zinc and a small amount of silicon. Once the coating process is complete, the newly-created Aluzinc is up to six times more resistant to the effects of corrosion as compared to any other galvanised metal.

Though Aluzinc is regularly used in many different environments, it is a special favorite in the insulation and ventilation industries. Aluzinc provides an impressive substrate for the application of organic coatings: a particularly-notable quality of Aluzinc is that is can be directly applied with paint, negating the need for tedious and costly preliminary treatments. Aluzinc is also easily formed and/or welded, making it suitable for a wide range of applications from fencing and roofing to cladding and jacketing.

BS Stainless is a leading supplier of Aluzinc in the form of coil and flat sheet: our clients are located all over the world. The Aluzinc coil and sheet we provide comes complete with a thin, fingerprint-free coating which, acting as a dry lubricant, improves the deep-drawing performance of the material and adds extra reinforcement.
