Job Title: Sales Account Manager
Location of work: Preston, UK
BS Stainless Limited, an SME based in Preston, has successfully run a steel stockholding business since 1998 and built an impressive reputation in the stainless-steel industry. In recent years, the company has grown to become one of the UK’s largest independent distributors of stainless steel coil, sheet, banding, wire and the supplier of choice for customers.
Over its 20-year life, BS Stainless has also developed a strong business. While primarily focussed on supply of stainless steel to UK manufacturing companies and distributors we continue to develop our international business with exports to over 50 countries.
The company is currently seeking an sales account manager to be based at their distribution and processing site in Preston, Lancashire.
We are looking for an outgoing individual, eager to learn, keen to develop their career with an expanding progressive company.
Your role will be to achieve sales in line with agreed targets by managing and developing existing accounts and identifying opportunities to generate new sales and additional business. You will build and maintain strong relationships with customers, developing account strategies, anticipating needs and providing excellent customer service and support. You will be supported in developing your personal sales strategy, maintaining accurate customer records and monitoring and using sales data to assist business growth.
Sales experience in the stainless steel stockholding industry would be an advantage. The role will be primarily office based but there will be the opportunity to visit customers when required.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
- Identifying and calling potential and current customers
- Converting leads into new business sales
- Developing and managing new products
- Building rapport and relationships with potential and existing customers
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience in a similar role in the metals industry or with and industrial sales background
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience of working to sales targets
- The ability to stock manage for Accounts
- An enthusiastic, highly motivated working attitude
You will need to fully understand the products and the market, being able to assist with stock levels, new product development, understand market prices and desired profit targets along with day to day running costs.
