Wire 2020 Dusseldorf Postponed

Organisers of Wire 2020 have postponed the exhibition. BS Stainless had booked a stand and preparations were advanced. However it is important that the safety of employees and visitors is put first so we fully support the decision and hope a new date can be arranged later in the year.

Bringing together professionals from all sectors relating to stainless steel wire, from manufacturers to end users, WIRE 2020 more than 42,000 visitors were expected representing more over 80 countries worldwide.

The statement received by BS Stainless from the organisers is listed below.

After daily news about the development of the coronavirus, intensive discussions with health authorities and our owner, we had to make a difficult decision today: We will postpone the trade fairs Wire & Tube.

In doing so, we are following the recommendation of the Federal Government's crisis management team in the fight against Covid-19, that the principles of the Robert Koch Institute be taken into account in the risk assessment of major events. On the basis of these principles - if we apply them to the upcoming events at the Düsseldorf exhibition centre - we must assume an increased risk. We have therefore made our decision with full responsibility for your safety and that of your customers and employees.

In order to guarantee planning can reliably proceed, we will do our utmost to find alternative dates for the postponed events jointly and promptly.

Keep up to date with developments on this and more from BS Stainless through our newsletter, web site, Twitter and LinkedIn.
