Traffic signs and CE marking

CE Marking for permanent signs are covered under the construction products regulation (CPR)  "In the UK from 1 July 2013 it became unlawful to supply permanent traffic signs (and associated products within the scope) where the performance has not been assessed by a Notified Product Certification Body in accordance with the provisions of EN 12899-1. It will also be unlawful to supply traffic signs and associated products without a Declaration of Performance (DOP) from the manufacturer and without CE marking."

As a manufacture of stainless steel strip for banding used to fix traffic signs BS stainless are currently the only company in the UK supplying these products that meet the directive . Not to be confused with general CE marking, our stainless steel strip and factory control measures have been assessed and we supply to BS EN 100088 part 4 (this is the harmonised code for that product within CPR) and have declaration of performance certificates (DOP) and certificate of factory production control (FPC) copies available on request.

If you are using stainless steel banding for sign fixing you can be confident that our Bandfix® products will meet the CE markings under CPR. We can supply banding, buckles, wing seals, tying wire, banding tools any many more items.  If you need any more information or advice please feel free to contact BS Stainless +44 (0) 1772 337555 or  info@bsstainless.co.uk
