CE Marking becomes Law from today
From today CE marking under the Construction Products Regulation becomes mandatory, many primary products including stainless steel sheet, plate, bar rod and wire to BS EN 10088-4 and 10088-5 and any other product for which there is a harmonised standard or a European Technical Assessment (ETA) in order to be sold within the European Economic Area (EEA) for use within the construction Industry.
BS Stainless materials are used extensively within this area for a wide and diverse range of products, with that in mind it was felt that CE marking for those materials was key to support the industry under regulation 305/2011.
Following previous seminars held by the BSSA and extensive research and discussion by our engineers we have been working towards CE approval for supply of stainless steel sheet, strip and stainless steel wire.
With stringent quality systems already in place including ISO 9001 and the x-ray testing of products, this will further underline BS Stainless commitment to quality and testing.
